Meditation is one of those things that lots of people know that they probably should incorporate into their routines but can often be missed when we get busy or we feel a huge resistance to.  I know that I was extremely resistant to meditation because I felt that there were stacks of rules attached to meditation that simply didn’t fit with me.

You gotta sit still, right?!?  Ok, so I am one of the world’s most fidgety pants.  I can’t sit still.  If you ever watch any of my videos you will be used to my perpetual motion.  Accepting that I’m not a “sit stiller” was the key to getting beyond this and allowing me to start a meditation practice.

The other big one was about having a empty mind.  Jeez, my mind buzzes.  I don’t have a lot of control over it and if I gave up on meditation simply because I had a thought would mean I wouldn’t get beyond the 10 second mark.  I allow the thoughts to come in, come through.  I don’t focus on them.  Acknowledging them is dandy.  I also make sure that I have a notebook beside me so that after meditation I can do a whole download of anything that came up.

Then, just to touch on the whole “not having time thang” ~ the old Zen quote goes a little something like this, “You should sit in meditation for 20 minutes a day. Unless youre too busy, then you should sit for an hour.”

I decided to ask some of my gorgeous Rockstars from Spooky School to dive in and take part in Meditation Week and provide you with some gorgeous guided meditations to help you relax & settle.
